The Las Vegas Raiders may not have turned their season around enough to make a push for the Super Bowl, but then again, we didn't think that would happen this year. Antonio Pierce, the interim head coach, has turned around the culture.
The Patriot Way wasn't going to work- it never did. You can't make some guys who want to play for the Raiders play the Patriots way. That's not how it works. And the Raiders have their own way. They want to be like the Raiders of old, and from what linebacker Robert Spillane told us, they are doing that moving forward.
That is one of the most important things when it comes to being a head coach of the silver and black. Owner Mark Davis wants a leader in a head coach more than anything, and that's exactly what he has in Pierce, who has done a tremendous job so far. It also helps that he is already making the Raiders history books with his last win over the Jets.
Here is what the Raiders' PR team tweeted about Pierce after the win:
With the win, Interim Head Coach Antonio Pierce becomes one of only seven coaches in Raiders history to win each of his first two career games at the helm of the Silver and Black. He is just the third interim head coach to accomplish the feat.
Josh McDaniels started his Raiders' career at 0-3 and then went on to be 2-7. But you already knew that. Pierce has already one-upped him in that category, and with one more win, he will have just as many wins as McDaniels has in 2023.
Pierce has already started to make a case for himself as the head coach in 2024, and judging by how things are turning out, the fans may not be opposed to that either.
Josh Jacobs’ recent quote shows he has much more in store for the Raiders
Josh Jacobs rushed for 98 yards and two touchdowns in the Raiders’ win over the Giants.
