Antonio Pierce's answer about being on the hot seat shows he's starting to feel the pressure from the Las Vegas Raiders
The Las Vegas Raiders are having one of their worst seasons in almost twenty years. The last time they finished a season with two wins was 2006, and before that, in 1961, they had one win. Unfortunately, this is not what the Raiders wanted for this year, and people are going to be losing their […]
The Las Vegas Raiders are having one of their worst seasons in almost twenty years. The last time they finished a season with two wins was 2006, and before that, in 1961, they had one win. Unfortunately, this is not what the Raiders wanted for this year, and people are going to be losing their jobs because of it.
And, I'm not saying Antonio Pierce, the head coach who was the interim head coach last season but was backed by the players to be hired, will get fired, but at this point who knows? He's the head coach of a team that is 2-12 and has the potential to lose the rest of their games.
Losing this many games was always what was best for the Raiders. They never had a playoff-caliber roster, so why not lose as many games as possible to get a great pick in the draft? But at the same time, when you lose a lot of games, in a way, you lose a lot of money as the owner of the Raiders.
This season surely has Pierce on the hot seat, and it seems like he is feeling the pressure.
"I'm under contract," Pierce told the media when asked about being on the hot seat.
That quote is what closed out his press conference. I'm sure he's feeling the pressure, why wouldn't he be? This team is not good, and may very well be the worst team in football. Their next game is against the Jacksonville Jaguars, who are also considered the worst team in football. If the Raiders lose that game, that will say a lot about who they are as a football team.
Things are getting hot down in the desert, even in the winter. After the game against the Jaguars, the Raiders will play the New Orleans Saints and the Los Angeles Chargers to close out their season.
