The Las Vegas Raiders have a blooming superstar on their hands if he stays on the same projection.
Maxx Crosby has been elite the last few years, and honestly, he still has a lot of potential that hasn't been tapped into yet. While we know that, he doesn't necessarily get the love from the national media he deserves.
Crosby is going to be the anchor of the defense in 2022, and he will probably put up some crazy numbers with Chandler Jones now opposite of him. Just look at what he did without a great pass rusher on the other side of him.
There is actually a crazy stat out there that shows the trajectory Crosby is on. I think it's pretty impressive.
Crosbys' three-year stretch is insane for the Raiders
When you think back to the best pass rushers in Raiders history, you think of names like Greg Townsend, Howie Long, and Anthony Smith.
Based on a recent stat, Crosby's name could be up there with them soon.
Of the players that had the most sacks through three seasons as a Raider, Crosby has the sixth-most at 25. which is extremely impressive, but even more impressive when you see who the five players are above him.
According to RaiderRamble.com, Anthony Smith had 36, Tony Cline had 28, Greg Townsend had 27.5, Howie Long with 26, and Khalil Mack with 26. These are some of the, if not the, greatest pass rushers of their generation, let alone for the Raiders.
If Crosby stays on this projection, he can easily be up there with those guys.
If he produces even more, as he does have the potential to, we could be talking about one of the greatest Raiders' pass rushers of all time.
The Raiders will have Crosby for a while, as they just signed him to an extension in March. If you ask Crosby, he wants to be a Raider for life, he even has it tattooed on his body.
While it will be very hard to finish at the top of the list like those other guys, Crosby can get close, barring any injuries of course. Right now he stands at the 25th spot on the Raiders' all-time sacks list.
Crosby has been dominant over the last few years, and with this new regime, he will have more opportunities to show that. Patrick Graham, the Raiders' new defensive coordinator, oversaw the Giants' defense last season.
New York's defense improved in a few different areas with him at the helm, including pass rush and passes defended.
This defense will be crazy good, and one of the main reasons is because of the two guys at the edge, and these stats only prove how dominant Crosby has been, and can be for the future.
