On Tuesday night, after an earlier agreement between the Baltimore Ravens and the Las Vegas Raiders to trade for Maxx Crosby, the Ravens chose not to proceed. This turnaround marks another eventful offseason for the Raiders, with an important deadline approaching. But that deadline doesn’t really matter anymore, now anyway.

The Ravens claim Crosby failed his physical, so now he is back with the Raiders. Some around the league believe Baltimore simply opted to keep their picks, possibly to pursue Trey Hendrickson. With the trade off, the key question was whether the Raiders keep Crosby or seek another deal. On Wednesday night, Crosby put all of those questions to bed with a message to the entire NFL.

“Everything Happens For A Reason. Believe Nothing You Hear & Half Of What You See. Im A Raider. I’m Back. Run That Sh*t,” Crosby wrote on Twitter.

The Raiders will be keeping Maxx Crosby, which means Friday’s deadline is on

The last 24 hours have been about whether the Raiders would keep Crosby or continue trying to trade him to recoup some draft capital. But, they won’t be doing that—they essentially traded the No. 14 pick for Crosby. Now, that means the Friday deadline is no longer an issue.

On Friday, there’s a trigger for Crosby’s contract and base 2027 pay. He’s due $29 million in fully guaranteed salary for 2027 on Friday. So, the Raiders could have either pushed the contract trigger deadline, which they can mutually agree to do. If they did that, it could mean that both sides are still mutually interested in pursuing a trade. That will obviously not happen.

This kind of says that Crosby will be a Raider for 2026 and 2027. Now, every team that backed out of the trade or didn’t want to give up anything will regret what they did. Crosby is sending that message.
