Derek Carr needs to take his own advice in order for the Raiders to win games
The Las Vegas Raiders blew yet another lead, but I don't need to tell you that, you already know. They were up 17, again, on the Jacksonville Jaguars this time, and unfortunately couldn't close it out. Some miscues, yeah, but some other things happened too. The Las Vegas Raiders blew yet another lead, but I don't need to tell you that, you already know.
They were up 17, again, on the Jacksonville Jaguars this time, and unfortunately couldn't close it out. Some miscues, yeah, but some other things happened too. At this point, they should just wrap up the season.
There is so much wrong but seems like there is nothing to say.
“You know, I think there is a lot I want to say, you know? But if I’m honest, I don’t need to say it here,” Derek Carr said after the loss. “There are things that will be said. There will be things that need to be addressed and all these things. But I think as [a] whole, the urgency part of it, after 30 minutes of football, we have to learn that the game is not over.
“I feel like I’ve been in this situation a lot where new coaches or this or that and you have to teach the new guys like this is how we do it and this is the mentality. That gets tiring, but at the same time, it’s my job. There is some of that. I’ll say that right now for those things. But there are things in-house that we’ll talk about man to man and all that kind of stuff that could be addressed.”
Carr does need to take his own advice, though. He is a huge reason that the team lost the second half.
In the first half, Carr and the Raiders were nearly flawless. His stat line at the break was 16-21, 223 yds, two touchdowns, and a 141.6 passer rating. Great, right? The first half was maybe one of the best halves we have seen him and the team play this year.
Then the second half happened.
Carr was 6-16, 33 yards, and a 45.8 passer rating just in the second half. Definitely a tale of two halves.
Carr has to be better too. Yeah, it's a group effort. But, it starts with the coaching, and then it goes to the quarterback. This fan base deserves better, too, especially considering the team they have on paper.
