When it came time to play their AFC West divisional rivals last season, the Las Vegas Raiders pretty much got embarrassed every single time. They didn't win a game against a division rival and were blown out twice. And, one of those games, to the Kansas City Chiefs, they lost in the worst way possible, on a botched snap.

So, heading into 2025, you better believe that the Raiders will make it an emphasis in getting back in the race in the division. If you can't win half of the games in the division, you won't even get near a wildcard spot. You play these teams twice a year, every single year, so there really is no excuse why a team shouldn't win one division game.

The Raiders will get help this year that they certainly didn't have last year, with the addition of former Seattle Seahawks QB Geno Smith, some of the free agents that new head coach Pete Carroll and new GM John Spytek brought on, and then course, the rookies.

The coaching will play a huge factor, too, but let's not act like maybe the biggest factor in the Raiders having a decent offense in 2025 will be the addition of Ashton Jeanty. Last year, they had virtually no run game, historically bad, actually.

Now they have a guy who people are calling generational. And, EA Sports is already predicting what he will do to the Denver Broncos.

Madden predicts Ashton Jeanty to make crazy play

The Raiders are in a position to really improve on their record from last year, and part of that will be winning a few of their rivalry games, or at least one, and not going winless in the AFC West. They nearly beat all three of the other teams in at least one of the games, or had a situation where they were in a close game, and it just ended up getting away from them.

Last year, the Broncos blew out the Raiders in their first matchup, but the Raiders are the team that actually started that game hot. They scored a touchdown, got a stop, and were on the goal line getting ready to score again. However, Gardner Minshew threw a pick-six to Patrick Surtain. With Jeanty now on the team, it's safe to say that there could be a play where they are much more comfortable running the ball. That pick-six changed the entire game.

As for 2025, Jeanty could really put a hurt on some of these teams. Madden is set to be released soon, or at least the newest version of it, and they have started to release teasers and trailers for the game. In that trailer, they showed Jeanty running over a Broncos player, which, I could be wrong, but it looks like it's Nik Bonitto, the Broncos edge rusher who was up for the Defensive Player of the Year Award last year. But in the video, it's hard to see what number the defender is wearing.

If that's a sign of what's to come for the Raiders' new running back, man, this season will be fun.
