The Las Vegas Raiders are a true wild card in the 2025 NFL Draft when it comes to their first-round pick at No. 6. Sure, most think Ashton Jeanty will be on the Raiders by the time the season starts, but now the Jacksonville Jaguars are a team to watch.

And, who's to say that Jeanty isn't the guy, even if he's available? Taking a quarterback is still an option for the Raiders. I mean, think about it — the Raiders have been waiting probably 20 years for a real franchise quarterback, and Geno Smith is not that, no matter how much Pete Carroll, his former Seattle Seahawks head coach, says he is.

Right now, no one knows who the pick is going to be or what the Raiders will do. This whole offseason, it's been pretty much Jeanty, Sanders, or Armand Membou. Now, within the last two days, names like Jalon Walker and Kelvin Banks Jr. have surfaced from analysts randomly throwing the two of them in their final mock drafts.

If you asked me what the most common name mocked by the Raiders a week ago, I would have said Jeanty. If you asked me which name was the most common the day before the draft, it would appear to be Banks Jr.

However, now we are being told from an ESPN insider that there is another draft plan the Raiders could execute that we should be on the lookout for.

On Thursday, during Round 1 of the 2025 NFL Draft, ESPN's Adam Schefter thinks that the Raiders could trade back. Now, this was on Unsportsmanlike on ESPN Radio, and he didn't say that was what was going to happen, but he said to watch out for it, which is something to take with a grain of salt.

If the Raiders were to trade back, it would be important for them to target either an offensive lineman, a linebacker, cornerback, or wide receiver. Trading back would likely get them more picks, too, which is never a bad thing.
