There is no secret that newly acquired Raiders WR Davante Adams is a special talent. He is among the best players at his position. One former star defensive back recently gave him a ton of praise.
Jason McCourty believes that Adams is the best receiver in the NFL right now. He has a case for it, without a doubt. Adams is arguably the best route runner in the league alongside guys like Justin Jefferson and Keenan Allen.
Adams has also been very consistent over the past handful of seasons in Green Bay. The former Packers wideout has had at least 997 receiving yards in five of his past six seasons. He also has 69 receiving touchdowns in that span. You can expect that production to continue with Derek Carr and the Raiders.
Adams is a threat at every level on the field. He dominates in the short passing game because of his release off the line, but he can also beat cornerbacks deep with his speed and agility. Overall, he is just an extremely well-balanced receiver. The Raiders are lucky to have him now.
The Raiders needed his talent to go alongside Hunter Renfrow and Darren Waller in order to stay competitive in an extremely offensive-talented AFC. Adams will look to prove McCourty right once again this season for the Raiders.
