The Las Vegas Raiders lost a close one to a very good team, the Miami Dolphins. A loss is a loss, and the Raiders hate taking moral victories, but it has to feel good to have a real chance to beat the Dolphins.
The Raiders had a chance to win at the end, but the offense couldn't do their part. And while we all know the Raiders aren't winning a Super Bowl this year, it still sucks to lose games like that.
The real question is, how does this team react and respond after a loss like that one? Do they bounce back and beat a great Kansas City team? Whatever happens, in a way, the loss was good for them.
"I think something like this can bring people together or divide," Hunter Renfrow told reporters in the locker room after the close loss to Miami. "In the past, I think maybe it could have divided a little bit. But I think that this is going to bring us closer. We care about each other in this locker room."
Something sticks out in that quote – Renfrow saying in the past, maybe the team would have gotten divided. And, while I'm not one to put words in people's mouths, it sounds like he could be referring to how the team would get when Josh McDaniels was in charge.
It also tells me that Antonio Pierce has changed this locker room, and the vibes are better. This will only make the Raiders better. Hopefully, this shows the offense that they have to be better, and the defense can see just how good they really are. And both sides can come together, just like Renfrow says.
Antonio Pierce is already making Raiders’ history
