John Spytek has now confused everyone even more regarding the Las Vegas Raiders' potential draft plans in the first round

It seems to be that mostly everyone thinks the Las Vegas Raiders will take the best running back in this draft class at No. 6 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft. That seems like the easiest thing to predict the team doing at this moment.
However, the Raiders are unpredictable; they always have been, and are even more so now with a new regime calling the shots. We have never seen former Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll and former Tampa Bay Buccaneers assistant general manager John Spytek make decisions together, other than what we have seen so far in free agency. So, this will be new for all of us.
And that makes everything so much harder to predict. But, do we really think that the Raiders are going to draft a running back in the first round when Spytek never did that with the Buccaneers and Carroll had only done it once in Seattle in 2018 with Rashad Penny, who ended up not really being worth it?
Spytek's comments make it seem like it could be a lock. Now, everything is even more confusing than we thought.
"I don't try to devalue any position that way. If we think any of these guys are worth a high pick, we'll do it," general manager John Spytek said at the Annual NFL Owners Meetings in West Palm Beach when asked about positional value with RBs in the draft.
In other words, he was asked if he thinks running backs are worth taking that early in the draft.
Now, we don't know if Jeanty will even make it to pick No. 6, but it certainly feels like he could. The top three to four picks are pretty much known at this point, it's just about what order they happen in. If Jeanty is there at No. 6, do these comments mean that Spytek would take Jeanty?
Or, do these comments even further prove that he believes he could wait and get someone who he believes is just as good, but only spend a second rounder on them, rather than the No. 6 overall pick.
And then Spytek also had comments about taking an offensive lineman early in the draft, and those comments certainly don't help either. He mentioned that DJ Glaze is the starter with open competition, but that he has a lot of draft picks and he loves his offensive lineman. Could we see a guy like Armand Membou thrown in the mix to try and go through the trenches? During his time with Tampa as the assistant GM, all three first-round picks he made, or helped make, were in the trenches.
The 2025 NFL Draft is about to get crazy. And, we have no idea what's going to happen. This may sound like he's going to take Jeanty, but he could see another RB as the better RB on his board with a chance to get better value. Just when it seems like the obvious thing this team will do, we know they will likely do the opposite.
Stay on your toes, Raiders fans.
