The Raiders need a good staff around Kubiak.
The Las Vegas Raiders had to wait until after the Super Bowl to hire former Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak. In return, they also had to wait for their staff to finish, while other teams started hiring guys left and right. It’s a negative to the situation, but at least they got their guy.
Now, it’s about the rest of the staff. I’m creating a tracker to keep up with every move the Raiders have made with their coaching staff and every interview they have scheduled.

- Los Angeles Rams assistant head coach Aubrey Pleasant for the defensive coordinator position.
- Seahawks safeties coach Jeff Howard for the defensive coordinator position.
- Green Bay Packers defensive line coach DeMarcus Covington for the defensive coordinator position.
- Seahawks denied a request for an interview for assistant OL coach Justin Outten.
Klint Kubiak knows what he’s looking for in his coaching staff
The Raiders’ new head coach won’t be struggling to find candidates to interview or hire. He’s already got a list and some qualities he wants to see.
“Definitely have a list of candidates that we’re going through right now,” Kubiak told reporters this week. “And we’re going to be working hand in hand on coaches, on the roster, everything. That’s part of us being successful, is us working together.
“We’re trying to assemble a great team of teachers,” Kubiak continued. “We’ve got to get some really good teachers and coaches here, and get us all on the same page, and get our players going in the same direction. That communication is really important. I think if we can put together a great staff here and get our players up to date on these playbooks and the expectations we have of them, then the results will speak for themselves.”
The Raiders will need their staff together before the NFL Draft Combine, which is coming up very soon.
