Maxx Crosby gets emotional in reflecting on his time with Las Vegas while also making a promise to Raiders fans
The Raiders will miss Crosby, but it’s time for a new chapter.
The Las Vegas Raiders are headed in a new direction under Klint Kubiak and John Spytek. We knew that, but we didn’t know how different a new direction it was until Friday, when they traded defensive end Maxx Crosby to the Baltimore Ravens.
The trade was something many didn’t think would actually happen. Then it did, to a team that was quiet through most of the rumors and process. Now, Crosby is taking the time to reflect back on everything, thank everyone, and even make a promise to the Raiders fanbase.
Crosby feels sorry that he couldn’t deliver the Raiders a Super Bowl
A lot of the theme of Crosby’s 12-minute video on Twitter, which was pretty emotional overall, was him apologizing to the Raiders fan base. He feels terrible about leaving them and “giving up,” but also that he couldn’t win with Vegas.
“I feel like I left everything I had on the table for this team,” Crosby said with a slight quiver in his voice. “I’ve given my heart and soul, and I feel like I let y’all down, man. Ever since Day 1, I’ve wanted to create and build a winner with the Raiders.”
The closest Crosby and the Raiders got was in 2021, when they lost to the Cincinnati Bengals in the playoffs. Crosby mentioned that season as some of the most fun he’s ever had playing football.
Now, he gets to go to a team that could be positioned to win right away. The Ravens have a new head coach, an MVP quarterback, and some nice pieces sprinkled throughout their roster. He may be able to win faster than the Raiders do. However, the Raiders are hoping he doesn’t, at least not in 2026, because they have the Ravens’ 2027 first-round pick.
Crosby made a promise to the Raiders fan base, saying he would one day finish his career with the Silver and Black. Crosby says Vegas fans have “every right to be upset.” He added that he has “no ill will” toward the organization.
