NFL insider reveals when a Maxx Crosby trade could happen if the Raiders were to finally deal him
The Raiders still don’t want to trade Crosby.
Drama around Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby continues. General manager John Spytek expects Crosby to wear Silver and Black next season, and head coach Klint Kubiak looks forward to working with him. Still, rumors persist.
Just when you think all the rumors are dying down, and will die down, they don’t. On Monday morning, the day after the 2026 NFL Combine, where GMs and HCs are all in the same place at the same time, some news broke.
According to NFL insider Albert Breer, the Raiders could deal Maxx Crosby as early as this week if they choose to go that route. As Breer reports, the Dallas Cowboys, Chicago Bears, Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles, and Los Angeles Rams are keeping tabs on his availability.
Should the Raiders even trade Crosby?
The team doesn’t want to trade the 29-year-old superstar defensive end. Crosby is in his prime, rarely misses games, and as Spytek notes, the Raiders aim to keep good players.
“Maxx [Crosby] is an elite player, and I’ve been very upfront from the start when I got here that we’re in the business of having really good players on the team, and we need a lot more of them,” Spytek told reporters at the Combine. “And it’s hard to build a great team without elite players…
“Maxx [Crosby] and I have a great relationship. He’s in the building every day, getting healthy right now. We talk on the phone. We text. So, I have a great relationship with Maxx… Maxx [Crosby] and I have had great conversations. I’m comfortable there. Yeah.”
The Raiders need as many good players as possible. Trading Crosby means losing one unless they acquire a good replacement, such as D.J. Moore and a first-round pick from the Bears. If they don’t get a significant offer like what the Packers got for Micah Parsons, they shouldn’t trade him.
