The Las Vegas Raiders are in the business of getting good players, as general manager John Spytek told reporters this week at the NFL Combine. Adding a linebacker like Tremaine Edmunds of the Chicago Bears would be doing just that.

He’s not the same player he once was, but he’s still really good—definitely better than anything the Raiders had last season. So, yes, when it comes to trade scenarios like that, the Raiders should be involved. According to an ESPN insider, they are involved.

As reported by ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Raiders have expressed significant interest in Edmunds. Last season, they ran with a group full of players who had been cast away at the position, like Jamal Adams, the former Seattle Seahawks safety, Devin White, Jaylon Smith, and even Germaine Pratt. It’s time they get someone good at the position who isn’t going to be the reason your defense stinks, or even loses you games.

The Raiders have all the capital in the world to make that work, whether it’s a draft trade or a player trade. And they have the cap space to take on his contract without being affected at all. But what would a trade look like?

What would a trade for Chicago Bears LB Tremaine Edmunds look like?

The Raiders send a 2026 fourth-round pick (No. 117) and a 2026 sixth-round pick (No. 181) to the Bears for Tremaine Edmunds.

The Raiders have a ton of picks and a ton of cap space. One of their biggest needs is a linebacker who can play in coverage. They would probably prefer a trade for a player they know is a fit for what they need rather than taking a shot on a draft pick, given the even greater chance it might not work out. Vegas needs some more guys on defense to help Maxx Crosby out—Edmunds could be one of many they add this year to help get at least a serviceable defense on the field.
