On Tuesday night, the entire league entered another eventful offseason for the Las Vegas Raiders. The Baltimore Ravens initially agreed to a trade with the Las Vegas Raiders to acquire Maxx Crosby, but later decided not to proceed.

The Ravens claim Crosby failed his physical, but people in league circles believe Baltimore simply got cold feet and decided to reclaim their picks to potentially sign Trey Hendrickson. With this uncertainty, the main question now is whether the Raiders will keep Crosby or pursue another trade.

Raiders want to keep Maxx Crosby, again

Before Crosby was ever officially traded, the Raiders let everyone know they wanted to keep Crosby but would listen to offers; if there was one they couldn’t turn down, they wouldn’t. They are taking that same approach again. According to several reports, the Raiders are set to keep Crosby and get him ready for the 2026 season, barring another crazy trade package being offered to them.

Baltimore offered pick No. 14 in 2026 and a 2027 first-round pick. The Raiders had been operating as if they would receive these picks in addition to taking Mendoza No. 1 overall. Meanwhile, the Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, and Chicago Bears reportedly made offers as well, but their packages—such as fewer or later picks—were less valuable than Baltimore’s. That doesn’t mean they can’t circle back to Dallas now. According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the Cowboys are a team to watch in the new Maxx Crosby Sweepstakes.

At this point, the Raiders’ next step is to welcome Crosby back and continue his rehab. This reunion also comes after significant free agency moves by the Raiders, which could positively influence Crosby’s return. Importantly, bringing him back should not disrupt any free agency activity to this stage, so ultimately, reacquiring Crosby for essentially the No. 14 pick could be a positive outcome.
