I think most fans of the Las Vegas Raiders are ready for owner Mark Davis to fire head coach Josh McDaniels. I have yet to meet one unready to see him go. He hasn't done great with his roster these last two years. In fact, he took a worse roster that made the playoffs, made the roster better, and was in the top seven of the NFL draft the very next year.
Most fans are ready for a change, even if it means restarting. They just want a competent head coach, which is normal in fandom. Josh McDaniels just doesn't seem to be that guy. He wasn't his first try in Denver with the Broncos, and he certainly isn't now.
That's what the media and fans are seeing. However, one of the Raiders' best players sees things differently. He has an entirely different opinion than Raiders fans.
"I think coach McDaniels has done an awesome job," Crosby said on the Pat McAfee show. "So coach McDaniels is with us every single day, he's consistent, and that's all you can ask for. Every single day, he is the same guy. He's super hard on us, but we know what we want, and we know what brand of football we're trying to play, and I feel like we're getting closer and closer to that every single week.
"I think coach McDaniels has done a hell of a job, and guys love him. He knows he's like a brilliant dude. So, yeah, I got a ton of respect for him. We have a great relationship, and, you know, we just have to keep it rolling. We got Chicago on Sunday, so we gotta get another one."
I don't know of any Raiders fans that feel that way. I mean, how can you think a guy that has won nine games in 23 has been great? Not to mention the guys he has on the roster, and him being an offensive guy and a "genius," be this bad on offense?
But hey, what was it that Mark Davis said? Smarten up?
