Klint Kubiak has already slightly proved that the Raiders made the right decision in hiring him, and he hasn’t even started yet
The Raiders have their guy in Klint Kubiak.
The Las Vegas Raiders have named Klint Kubiak head coach, but some national media and fans remain doubtful.
These doubts primarily stem from concerns about Kubiak’s lack of head-coaching experience. However, recent NFL trends suggest otherwise; for instance, both the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Chicago Bears reached the postseason in Year 1 under first-time head coaches. Additionally, some argue that Kubiak’s success as an offensive coordinator is limited to just one standout season.
This year, the Seattle Seahawks won the Super Bowl with him calling plays, but last season with the New Orleans Saints, he finished with just five wins. The previous time he was an OC was in 2021 with the Minnesota Vikings, where he finished 8-9. So, there are some stipulations about him. Or, at least there were. He pretty much put all those to bed and proved the Raiders were making the right decision when he just won the Super Bowl over the New England Patriots.
Klint Kubiak also chose the Raiders, not just the other way around
“I think over two separate interviews, I just got very comfortable with John [Spytek] and Mr. [Mark] Davis and the ownership structure,” Kubiak said when asked why Las Vegas. “And they really didn’t have to say much. This is the Raiders.
“This is one of the most historic franchises in the NFL, with a great history that I want to be a part of. I want to be a part of furthering that history. So, I think the Raiders really sold itself, but having those two different interviews and getting more comfortable with the men in the room went a long way.”
The Raiders have their guy, and he wants to be a Raider. They’ve made a commitment to him with the five-year contract. Now, they have to put the staff and team around him so Kubiak can continue to prove everyone wrong.
