The Las Vegas Raiders have a checklist of things they need to get done. At the top of that list, is to get healthy, because they may be one of the more banged-up teams in the league. Second on that list is to trade away Davante Adams, who has somewhat become a distraction for everyone on the team, and the fan base.
He's a very polarizing player, and when he says he wants out, everyone and their mother will know about it. He's going to be traded somewhere, and then that time will be on all the sports talk shows the next morning being asked if they are the next challenge to the Kansas City Chiefs. That's just what happens and what will happen.
But, for the Raiders this is all about getting back the best deal, not about where Adams wants to go. He hasn't done the Raiders any favors by banging on the table, demanding they hire Antonio Pierce and Luke Getsy, and then leaving. He didn't do any favors for the Raiders when he complained all last season. Why should they do him one?
So, it could take a minute for the Raiders to trade him away until they get what they want, and, that's fine. Or, it could happen very soon. Now, we are finally getting a timeline.
According to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, the Raiders could get a deal done within the next 48 hours. Then Bleacher Reports' Jordan Schultz tweeted that the deal could happen "sooner rather than later."
That's perfect for the Raiders, that way they can get this distraction away from the team and focus on winning football games. Now, the team is worried about prepping for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
