Raiders: 49ers starter gives Davante Adams advice ahead of matchup
The Las Vegas Raiders have been in the news lately, but I wouldn't say it's for good reasons. Now, it isn't necessarily bad, either. The Las Vegas Raiders have been in the news lately, but I wouldn't say it's for good reasons. Now, it isn't necessarily bad, either.
Starting quarterback Derek Carr has been benched, and he and the team agreed that Carr should be away from the team to avoid being a distraction during these last two games.
Now, this makes the situation very awkward for one player on the Raiders, and you probably already know who I'm going to say.
Davante Adams, the league's best receiver for a large part of his career, probably has a lot of mixed emotions about the entire situation.
I mean, he is best friends with Carr, and they went to the same college together. Let Adams tell it, and Carr is the reason Adams is a Raider in the first place.
"This man gave everything he had. The reason I'm a Raider.. One of the most disciplined and loving people I know. Got my bruddas back through whatever and if you can't respect it (excuse my language) F you!!! Love you bruh."
Adams also posted on his Instagram story a picture of the two in their Raiders' uniform with the quote: "I wouldn't be here right now if he wasn't here."
Now, after posting that in support of his brother and best friend, 49ers starter Brandon Aiyuk had something to say about the situation.
"Sit out this week, stand with your guy!"
Aiyuk and the 49ers play the Raiders this week, and I'm sure Aiyuk is just joking around, but still being serious at the same time.
Adams is one of the most respected receivers in the NFL and probably one of the most respected guys in the league. With that being said, I think it is fair to say other teams don't want to play him, and why would you? He is going to torch whoever he plays.
Aiyuk was suggesting he sit out because it would make the 49ers win that much easier. In a way, he was giving advice, but not intentionally.
