The Las Vegas Raiders are looking for whatever help they can get from their offensive line, whether it be starting-caliber or depth pieces. They need help up front, because outside of this scheme being bad, and the playcalling not being great, that is where the root of all of the problems are coming from. That's what happened against the Los Angeles Chargers, Baltimore Ravens, Carolina Panthers, and that's probably what will happen against the Cleveland Browns.

The offensive line is terrible at the moment, and with Thayer Munford being injured, we don't know if he will be at 100%, it certainly doesn't help that there are young guys all over the starting offensive line.

Gardner Minshew, or whoever the quarterback will be, needs time in the pocket to throw. With the offensive line they currently have, that doesn't look like it's going to get any better, especially not by taking out Dylan Parham for Cody Whitehair, when Parham has been one of your best offensive linemen.

So, the Raiders made an addition to potentially help with the depth there.

According to the Raiders PR team, they have signed former Philadelphia Eagles practice squad player, and former Maryland Terps offensive lineman, Gottlieb Ayedze.

Ayedze was teammates with Raiders rookie offensive tackle DJ Glaze, who played a significant amount of snaps after Thayer Munford was injured. Ayedze is a player who, in this last draft, was seen as a player who could be a mid-round pick by The Athletic's Draft Genius Dane Bruglar.

SUMMARY: A one-year starter at Maryland, Ayedze played predominantly right tackle in offensive coordinator Josh Gattis’ RPO-heavy, multiple-run scheme. Despite only playing football for six years (one year of high school, four in Division II, and one season in the Big Ten), he played well with the Terps, and several NFL teams bumped his draft grade between the summer and the end of the 2023 season. Although he can use improved hip roll in the run game to create displacement, Ayedze is efficient out of his stance and on the move, staying patient in pass protection to mirror rushers in smaller spaces. He started only one game at guard in 2023, but it came against Illinois — and he more than held his own against potential first-rounder Jer’Zhan Newton. Overall, Ayedze doesn’t have the overwhelming size and needs to prove himself against NFL power, but he plays with control and several baseline traits that will translate well. He projects as a developmental guard who can play tackle in a pinch.

GRADE:
5th-6th Round

The Raiders will add him to their practice squad, and see if there's anything there.
