In case you have missed it, the Las Vegas Raiders and Josh Jacobs are in a sticky situation this offseason.

The Raiders franchise tagged Jacobs this offseason so that he wouldn't hit free agency. There is just one problem: He has yet to sign his tender, which means he is not under contract, right now.

If Jacobs doesn't sign the tag, then he has until the Tuesday after Week 10's games to figure something out. He won't be allowed to play the 2023 season if nothing has changed once the clock strikes 4p.m. ET on November 14.

It's an unfortunate situation, because as we saw last year, the Raiders offense and Jacobs were pretty much made for each other, especially in the running game.

Under head coach Josh McDaniels, the Raiders saw some changes. One of them being in the running game. In McDaniels' offense, the run calls are more gap-heavy scheme. Meaning the scheme is based on power and getting blockers downfield.

Josh Jacobs thrived in it. Not only did he have his best statistical year, PFF recognized it to.

PFF recently named Jacobs the best man/gap runner with a minimum of 50 attempts. He had nearly 500 more yards than the person who came in second (yards are counted when they are running the gap scheme).

Which tells us, the best person to run McDaniels scheme is already there, which makes this situation even more interesting for the Raiders. Hopefully both sides realize they need each other and everything gets figured out, but, only time will tell.
