The Las Vegas Raiders have plenty of weapons on their roster in 2024. The issue that everyone is worried about has nothing to do with those who are designated to run and catch the ball, or even block for that matter. It's the one with a much more important job — the most important in any sport ever.

The Raiders named Gardner Minshew as their quarterback to start the 2024 season, but they have a battle for a reason. There is a saying, if you have a legit QB battle, you have no QB. This league is stacked, and these days, the best teams have great quarterbacks. The playoff teams have the best quarterbacks.

The Raiders do not have one of the best quarterbacks.

That doesn't mean they won't make the playoffs, but it certainly would make things easier with an elite guy at the position. However, the Raiders, since they couldn't get an elite quarterback the last two years, have been adding elite talent around the quarterbacks they do have.

After seeing him in the preseason and in training camp, it's pretty evident that the Raiders think Tre Tucker can have a breakout season with Minshew throwing him the ball.

“Tre Tucker…obviously he can run by a lot of corners and safeties in this league. We know what we’re going to do," head coach Antonio Pierce said. "Get with Davante & Brock & Big Mike, Jakobi…but when you got a guy who can make those explosive plays that makes those DBs back up a little more.”

Tucker can really have a crazy season in this offense. He's being set up to be a sneaky weapon. Now, I don't mean like wide receiver one or anything like that, but I think we can start to see a hell of a lot more deep balls in this 12-personnel offense when they do bring on three wide receivers. Because, the 12 personnel offense will likely just feature two wide receivers a ton, which means they will be running the ball a lot with two tight ends.

Every now and then they'll even run it with Tucker in the game. Then, boom, a play-action pass for 40 yards, just like we saw so many times in the preseason. And the development is there too with Tucker. We know he worked all preseason and off-season, and it's going to show in 2024.
