The Las Vegas Raiders have so much going on right now, and the 2024 offseason hasn't even officially started yet. They have to decide who will be the head coach in 2024 soon, and they need to find a general manager.
It isn't getting easy, either. They would love Antonio Pierce but to return with the head coach tag and not the interim head coach tag. However, they are also interested in Jim Harbaugh, the head coach of the Michigan Wolverines.
But the rumors and reports for all of the coaching searches around the league are coming in. Now, one other team has Pierce in their sights, and the Raiders can't mess it up.
According to Hondo Carpenter of Sports Illustrated, if the Raiders do not hire Pierce as the head coach, he is told the New York Giants would like Pierce. He tweeted that a source told him "he would be a top target for our DC job."
That is huge because Pierce played for the Giants and even won a Super Bowl there. But, there is one wrinkle to this whole story.
According to Jordan Raanan of ESPN, Wink Martindale, the Giants defensive coordinator last season, hasn't actually submitted his resignation to the Giants. In other words, the Giants are playing a game here. Martindale is officially under contract for one more year.
The Raiders cannot screw this up. I mean, the fans want Pierce. Pierce is a Raider and has already made Raider history.
