It all started with Josh McDaniels being too arrogant to change his ways. He was driving the Las Vegas Raiders into the ground and couldn't see that everything he was doing was just making things worse. He was fracturing relations with Josh Jacobs, Davante Adams, and even Hunter Renfrow.

After the win over the Green Bay Packers, Davante Adams came out and talked about the offense and how he wasn't being used enough. He was right, in a way. The offense was not using him in the best situations to win.

Adams would go a game without two catches, and then the next game would have 20 targets. It didn't make a ton of sense. The consistency was not there, and Adams let everyone know. Sure, it was taken the wrong way by many, but it was something that needed to be said. And hey, for all we know, that could have been what sped up Mark Davis firing of McDaniels.

We are just two games into this new regime, but we know that Pierce will make sure Adams gets the ball because he is their best player. And, because, well, he told us.

"When we have the best receiver in the game, I'm not stupid," Pierce said when asked about Adams getting a lot of early targets. "I know who to get the ball to. We have other great players, too. Shout out to Big Mike! You just got mossed! Shout out to Big Mike."

The Raiders went to Adams on the first three plays of the game. They wanted to make sure the emphasis of getting him the ball was clear, and it was. Adams finished with 86 receiving yards on 13 targets.

It's good to know Pierce is adamant about staying away from the things McDaniels did. He is already making Raiders history, too.
