The Las Vegas Raiders will always be disrespected when it comes to how the national media views them. Thankfully, most fans don't care.

With all the new additions this team has made this offseason, you would think the respect would be higher than usual. They added the best receiver in the game over the last few years in Davante Adams.

If that wasn't enough, they then added Chandler Jones, one of the best sack artists in the game to pair with Maxx Crosby on both edge spots. They have a great quarterback in Derek Carr and weapons surrounding him. What else do they have to do?

Now, even more of the media is disrespecting the Las Vegas Raiders, but this time it's in the form of the first power ranking of the year.

Raiders ranked last in the division in power ranking

The Raiders are once again ranked last in the AFC West. To be honest, Raiders fans should be immune to the disrespect by now. They are probably writing down every national media member's name that said anything bad, just to keep that in the back of their head.

Dan Hanzus of NFL.com will likely be on that list, as he ranked them 11th in the league.

"The talented tight end was productive when he was on the field in 2021 (missed six games), but he failed to match the playmaking virtuosity that defined his previous two seasons. Waller could be ready to return to beast mode.

"The arrival of Davante Adams completely changes how defenses must prepare for the Raiders, and all that attention on an elite wide receiver should lead to plenty of single coverage, chunk gains, and end-zone visits for Waller, who managed only one touchdown reception after Week 1 a season ago. Waller might not see quite as many targets with Adams in the building, but the quality of those looks figures to go way up."

I will say this, the 11th-best team in the league doesn't sound terrible, at all actually. That's a team that should make the playoffs. However, this 11th-ranked team's circumstances would be different.

Even though Hanzus ranked the Raiders 11th, he still ranked them last in the division, which means no playoffs. Being the 11th-best team means nothing without a playoff appearance.

The Raiders will do what they always do, which is prove people wrong. I bet no one thought they would make the playoffs last year, let alone give the second-place team in the league fits for 60 minutes in the first round.

They have a chance to do that in Week 1, when they will take on the Chargers, who are picked by many to finish first in the AFC West.
