The Las Vegas Raiders are set to face the Los Angeles Rams, who currently are without Mathew Stafford, as he was placed on the injured reserve list and will be out for four games.
I guess the Rams think they can still make the playoffs at 3-9, and possibly 3-10 after Thursday. I mean, they have to think that after signing Baker Mayfield.
And speaking of Mayfield, Raiders' fans will laugh at what he had to say after being claimed by the Rams on Tuesday.
Let's just start with this. Tuesday is when Mayfield was claimed. The Raiders and Rams play on Thursday Night Football. That is two days to learn the playbook as a quarterback, which is insanely hard to do.
Now that that is out of the way, let's talk about what Mayfield said.
Per Adam Schefter, Mayfield said, "there is a shot" he plays on Thursday.
That's honestly laughable. If you ask me, there is no shot.
This won't change the way the Raiders have to prepare for the Rams, because I think they know it will still be John Wolford and or Bryce Perkins.
Even if Mayfield did play Thursday, I think the Raiders would only benefit from that. He hasn't been good, and the guy won't know much about the offense.
