The Raiders have a handful of problems this season. As we all know, it starts with the offense. The defense isn't innocent, as they have been unable to stop the run at times. But the offense is the reason this team hasn't had at least three more wins.
The offense, and turnovers, are the reasons they lost the last game to the Los Angeles Rams, and now they are very unfortunate in that they have to play the Kansas City Chiefs this weekend, a division rival who is the only unbeaten team left. And, they just got better with the trade of DeAndre Hopkins.
The actual biggest issue, though, and the reason why the offense hasn't worked a lot of times, is because of the injuries they have sustained. Injuries are big around the league this year, but there aren't as many teams with as big of injuries as the Raiders have
It's clear that it may be time to chalk this season up, but, if there was ever a bright side and a reason to keep pushing, it would be because they are finally starting to get healthy. Their Wednesday injury report for Chiefs week tells the whole story.
Let's start with the fact that Maxx Crosby is healthy and is a full participant at practice. That's always going to be the most important thing. This time, there were only three players who did not participate.
Yes, those three are important, especially star left tackle Kolton Miller and offensive guard Dylan Parham, but that's a much better place to be than where they have been the last few weeks.
Jakobi Meyers is limited, which means he is likely trending in the right direction.
This is great news. And, it should only get better. The Raiders are about to play some big-time teams on their schedule, too, like the Cincinnati Bengals, Miami Dolphins, Denver Broncos, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
