The Las Vegas Raiders have begun and almost finished filling out their staff for the 2025 season. And, it feels like John Spytek and Pete Carroll were just announced as general manager and head coach a few days ago. But, this is the NFL, and the NFL moves fast these days. So, before you know it, we will be seeing them at Lucas Oil Stadium in attendance to watch the NFL Combine.

There are only a few more positions to be filled on this staff. Now that we have the offensive coordinator position filled by Chip Kelly, all that's really left is the position coaches. And, one of them was recently filled.

According to Tashan Reed of The Athletic, the Raiders are hiring Pete Carroll's son, Brennan Carroll, to be the offensive line coach, keeping the Raiders as a family business by bringing more family to the desert.

Sons of football coaches who also work in the industry aren't always nepotism. In fact, some of these guys who are sons of former coaches or even current coaches, hate relying on their fathers and would much rather do the work all by themselves. In this case for the Raiders, there is no nepotism, Brennan Carroll has earned this job.

Brennan Carroll started at USC in 2002 as a graduate assistant, eventually coaching tight ends and serving as recruiting coordinator. After USC, he moved to the University of Miami from 2010 to 2014, where he coached tight ends and later wide receivers while also handling recruiting.

In 2015, Brennan joined the Seattle Seahawks, working with his father again, first as an assistant offensive line coach and then as run game coordinator until 2020. After his NFL stint, he went back to college football, becoming the offensive coordinator at the University of Arizona under Jedd Fisch in 2021. In 2024, he took on the role of offensive coordinator and offensive line coach at the University of Washington.

Now, he will be the offensive line coach for the Raiders.
