The Las Vegas Raiders have one of the worst offenses in the league, if not the worst in the league. And, surprisingly, they may also have the best tight end in the league.

The fan base is pretty split on what Tom Telesco has done for the organization so far in terms of the general manager's moves since being GM. He has made some bad moves, like giving Gardner Minshew the contract he did, hiring Luke Getsy, who showed his scheme was not great last season with the Chicago Bears, and a few others.

And, he has made some good moves, like signing Christian Wilkins away from the Miami Dolphins and Alexander Mattison who was previously on the Minnesota Vikings. But, easily the best thing he did was decide to draft Brock Bowers, who is breaking records as a rookie and is definitely on his way to becoming the league's best tight end.

He had a huge day on Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams, despite the offense being pretty bad. Here is everything the Raiders PR team tweeted about Bowers and the records he broke:

On the opening drive for the Raiders, TE Brock Bowers has already passed Amari Cooper (38) for the most receptions in Raiders history among players in their first seven career games. TE Brock Bowers has now passed Raymond Chester (401) for the most receiving yards by a Raiders tight end through their first seven career games. With his 422 receiving yards so far in 2024, Bowers is also 1-of 3 TEs in NFL history and 1-of-3 players of any position in Raiders history to reach 400+ receiving yards in his first seven career games. TE Brock Bowers has now recorded 5+ catches in five games, the most games in NFL history by a tight end in their first seven career games. TE Brock Bowers now has 43 receptions through his first seven career games, the most in NFL history by a tight end in their first seven career games, passing Keith Jackson (42 in 1988). TE Brock Bowers has 10 catches on the day. He is now just the fourth tight end in NFL history to post a game of 10+ receptions in the first seven games of his rookie season – the first since 2014 (Jace Amaro).

The Las Vegas Raiders have a guy who passes the eye test all across the board. He's easily lined up to be one of the best tight ends this game has ever seen. And, the crazy thing is, look what he is having to deal with at quarterback — the constant juggle of two different quarterbacks has not affected him.

The offensive line isn't good, and there are so many injuries going on around him. Yet, he is still playing amazing football. He is a jewel.

Regardless of having a player that good, the Raiders still lose. They will now try to move on to their game against the Kansas City Chiefs and then the Cincinnati Bengals, where the tough part of their schedule starts back up again.
