We all know that one fan of the Las Vegas Raiders is a pure die-hard. They don't like any other team, they don't root for any other players, even ones that leave the Raiders to go somewhere else, and they dang sure don't wear other team's appearance.
That's how new Raiders cornerback Marcus Peters' family is, especially his dad.
Peters grew up in Oakland, a fan of the silver and black with his dad. They didn't like any other team, and they didn't root for any other team. It's always been that way for Peters' dad, even when his son made the league.
"My pops ain't never put on one of my jerseys," Peters said Saturday.
Peters' dad is a staunch Raiders fan, so while seeing his son get drafted was surreal, I'm sure he hated that it was to Kansas City, the Raiders' biggest rival ever. He didn't even wear Peters' jersey when the former All-pro played for the Baltimore Ravens, a team that doesn't have a long-term history with the rival.
It's safe to say Peters and his family are actually a part of Raider Nation. And now he feels even better knowing his dad can wear his jersey.
Now he gets to put on one and feel proud about it," Peters said.
I'm sure his dad couldn't be happier.
