Raiders' Pro Bowler should be upset after what his peers said

The Las Vegas Raiders have, and I cannot stress this enough, the roster to win a Super Bowl. They have the superstars everywhere. They have the best receiver in the game in Davante Adams. They have, in my opinion, a top-15 running back in the league in Josh Jacobs.

Let’s not forget about Darren Waller, who is a top-3 tight end in the league, despite the down year from last season.

Waller deserves more respect than what he gets. Right now, it is pretty obvious he isn’t getting what’s deserved.

Raiders’ Waller ranked too low in NFL Top 100

August is always the season of the NFL's NFL Top 100, which is a collection of player votes that determine the top-100 players in the NFL.

Make no mistake: There is always something to be upset about when it comes to the rankings. This time, if you're a Raiders fan, or Waller himself, you should be upset with how low he was ranked on the list.

And it's obvious Wallers’ peers don’t think as highly of him as compared to what they thought a year ago.

Waller came in as the 58th-best player in the league. Last season he came in at No. 35.

The Raiders had a much better season last year than the year before. However, Waller did not. His 2020 season was better than his 2021, statistically anyways.

If you take a look at some of the players that are ranked higher than Waller, you can come to the conclusion that they just simply aren’t better than the star tight end in Las Vegas.

Waller is one of the most versatile players in all of the NFL. He is a receiver in a tight ends body. He does things that you do not see everyday, and is one of the most unguardable players in the league. His athleticism and the fact defenses have to account for him on every single play is top-50-worthy, at minimum.

I think that Waller will end up higher on this list next season, only because the rest of the league will have no choice but to put him there. As long as he's healthy, he's going to have a monster year.

With all the attention on Adams and even Hunter Renfrow, Waller is sure to relieve some pressure off of the two-time All-Pro. Don't be surprised if he tops the career year he had in 2020.

And when that happens, you better believe he'll be cracking that top-50, at minimum, in 2023.
