Just a few days after Davante Adams let the Las Vegas Raiders media members hear it regarding how the offense is being run, he does the unthinkable.
No, Davante Adams never does what he did on Sunday against the Chicago Bears. But first, let's look at what it was he said.
Adams told the media that he wasn't happy with how he was being used. He thought he should be getting the ball more, not because he is greedy, but because he knows that's how the offense is at its best. Many people took it the wrong way, while Adams just wanted to win dominantly, something they still have yet to do.
So, back to what happened in the game: Adams was wide open on a corner route in the end zone and dropped the ball. Not only does he never drop passes even when he is contested, but he definitely never drops wide-open passes, and ones in the end zone at that.
"I should have made that play," Adams said after the game. "I mean, I killed whoever that was out there [on defense], and then just didn't make it."
While Adams is still one of the best receivers in the league, if not the best, I think it's safe to say he shouldn't say anything after this loss. He opened his mouth, got the targets, 12 to be exact, and dropped a wide-open touchdown. It makes him look silly, to be honest.
He will bounce back from this, but I'm willing to bet nothing gets said about the offense from him this next week in terms of his usage. Josh McDaniels already 'put it to bed.'
