The Las Vegas Raiders decided to send Jimmy Garoppolo out there to make his first start in preseason Week 2 against the Los Angeles Rams.

For Garoppolo, it was his first football action since Week 12 of last season, when he injured his foot and had to have surgery. For someone who hadn't played in a while, Garoppolo didn't really miss a beat in his one drive.

The new quarterback in Las Vegas went 4/4 with 39 passing yards in his first and only drive. He also drove the ball downfield during the drive, resulting in a rushing touchdown.

As far as what his teammates think of his performance, they can't really complain.

"He had a lot of time off, so it's going to take a little bit of adjusting to get back into it and learn new guys," wide receiver Davante Adams said in the locker room to reporters. "You can see the growth over the camp. I am proud of him."

Some people were weary of Jimmy Garoppolo playing, but head coach Josh McDaniels thought it was important for him. Garoppolo himself thought the same.

"I wanted to play. … I thought it was overall pretty good," Garoppolo said.

And, really, it was pretty good. However, this is the preseason, and we have to take everything with a grain of salt. We need to see more before we can start throwing hot takes out there.
