Unless you're not on social media or do not watch television then you have probably seen or heard the newest drama surrounding Tom Brady. Before we say anything else, yes, I'm aware that this is a Las Vegas Raiders website.
However, the Brady drama does have a lot to do with the Raiders. Recently, Dana White, who runs the UFC, said that he and Brady had it worked out for him and Rob Gronkowski to go to Las Vegas and play when Brady was a free agent in 2020.
Jon Gruden, who all of you know was the coach at the time, turned down the offer and ended all of the speculations. Tom Brady was later heard on LeBron James' TV show 'The Shop' talking about it, in which he said "You're gonna stay with that Mother_____," possibly referring to Derek Carr. You can guess the rest of the sentence.
On Tuesday, the media asked Carr if he was immune to the situation.
"By now, I would hope so. It is what it is. You know for me, I didn't even hear about it, we actually had within the building someone lost a family member. I was so immersed in that and talking to that person, that kind of stuff, it was a moment to really put things in perspective, like, it really doesn't matter," Carr said with a smile on his face.
Just to start, who wouldn't want Brady on their team? He is almost a guarantee of a Super Bowl win. At the same time, though, Carr has done a lot for the franchise.
This is the same guy that has had part of his body destroyed in games, and still gave it his all. Carr is the franchise quarterback, and some people may not like it. But he has played at an MVP level before, and people also forget that.
Carr has taken this tea to the playoffs, more than once. Last year, it was him who almost led his team to a victory over the team that went to the Super Bowl.
While some of Raider Nation would rather have Brady, let this show you how much Carr is dedicated to this franchise. You should want someone like that. And if we are going off rumors, Brady wasn't even dedicated to the one he is on now.
He retired, un-retired, and had plans to go to the Dolphins, all this summer.
If I was Carr, I would only let Brady's' comments fuel me to have an even better year. This also makes it interesting to see how they act towards each other this year after their matchup. Usually, the two quarterbacks go and shake hands and talk for a bit, but I'll be watching how they act towards each other, especially if the Raiders win.
So just keep that in mind before you start slandering Carr. Yeah, having Brady is great, but Carr is the Las Vegas Raiders.
