Everyone is talking about the final play from the Las Vegas Raiders' win over the New England Patriots, and rightfully so. It was truly the craziest ending to a game this year and maybe the craziest in a very long time.
However, there was a play that happened not too long before that one that people are forgetting about. Before we say anything else, I thought Keelan Cole's foot was out. But, that moment was a tough one, especially for Derek Carr, who remembers a few different moments between these two teams that were also crazy.
"I mean, I was like, 'A Patriot-Raider game ending in a review.' I remember a lot of things. I remember I was in Bakersfield, California it was nighttime and I was watching Charles Woodson strip the ball from Tom Brady. And I don't know how old I was, but I was sitting there with my dad watching the game.
"I remember my rookie year, we go down on a two-minute drive, we run in the end zone and all sudden there's a flag. The next play, I throw it to my receiver, checking it down, it bounces and Vince Wilfork picks it. I'm just like, 'Can we please just have one go our way.' And when they showed that one view where you saw his [Keelan Cole’s] cleat hit the grass, and then his foot went down, you're like, 'Oh.' We started going nuts. And then the ref next to us said, ‘Touchdown.’ And we went nuts."
I think most Raider fans remember the 'Tuck Rule' game. Charles Woodson, one of the greatest defensive backs of all time, strip sacks the greatest quarterback of all time, but because of Bradys' arm moving forward it was deemed an incomplete pass and a tuck rule.
Truly one of the biggest missed calls we have seen in the NFL, in my opinion.
But it was great that Carr compared the two to each other because they were similar in the way of how long they were reviewed and the teams were playing each other. It's safe to say Carr finally got one to go his way against the Patriots for once.
