The Las Vegas Raiders are in quite the bind as the 2025 NFL Draft is quickly approaching. They have several needs, some bigger than others, but are in the wrong draft class for what they need most — a quarterback.

That doesn't mean they can't get a good QB, but it certainly throws a wrench in their plans. Should they stick with Aidan O'Connell and Gardner Minshew and address everything else this year? Who knows. But, with an improved run game, this team could be much better, despite the QB position. Now, they won't be a team competing for a championship, but next year's QB class is so much better.

To improve as a team, they have to fix the running game. To do that, the interior of the offensive line needs to be addressed, as well as the running back room. They can do both in the 2025 NFL Draft, or they can spend some of their cap space on those positions in free agency. I would not prefer the latter.

As far as the draft goes, there are plenty of mock drafts out there mocking the Raiders to grab the best running back in this class at No. 6 in Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty. That doesn't mean it will happen, and it likely won't. However, the Raiders are doing their due diligence with the prospect, so much so they scheduled a visit with Jeanty.

Raiders schedule Top 30 visit with Ashton Jeanty

The Raiders could be interested in Jeanty. Or, they could be doing their due diligence. They have a top six pick, and Jeanty is the best running back in the class and considered to be a can't miss NFL player.

According to Ryan Fowler, Jeanty currently has two top 30 visits scheduled, one with the Raiders and one with the Chicago Bears.

The raiders do need a running back, but they should not be taking one at pick No. 6 when they can get a great running back on Day 2 or even Day 3, and they have much bigger needs on the table, like a quarterback, interior offensive line, or even wide receiver considering this draft class.

Only time will tell what will happen.
