The Las Vegas Raiders have the best receiver in football. There is nothing else to it. Fine, you don't agree, that's fine, but you can't say he isn't top-three. And, to make things better for Davante Adams' case', he has been one of the most consistent receivers in the last decade.
You know what you are going to get from Adams every game, every season. On Monday Night Football, he is going against his former team. It was a mutual decision for the two sides to part; however, you know that Adams still wanted to go off against them.
But, one ESPN analyst thinks a Packers young receiver will play better than Adams.
ESPN analyst has bold take on Raiders' Davante Adams
Here is what Rob Demovsky of ESPN had to say:
Bold prediction: Green Bay WR Romeo Doubs will have a better stat line than Adams — if Adams plays — on Monday night. Doubs has been compared to him by some in the Packers organization, and here's his chance to show it's a worthy comparison. Doubs' three touchdown catches are the most by a Packers receiver in the team's first four games of a season since Adams in 2018. Doubs will add to that. — Rob Demovsky
That's a bold take, to say the least. Doubs is great and will be a great player. He is taking the league by storm. However, Adams is one of the best to ever do it. I could only see this happening if Jaire Alexander, who is on the injury report, is matched up against Adams the whole game.
However, the Packers' defense does not give Alexander, or any secondary pater for that matter, to have free reign to follow one player around on the field. Then you add that Adams moves everywhere, whether it be the slot, at X, Z, Y, or you name it, he does it.
Adams can have a huge game on Monday. Then again, with the Raiders' secondary, Doubs can also. I still don't see it happening, though.
