The Las Vegas Raiders are almost done with their staff. They really just need a few more pieces here and there, and they should be good to go for the 2025 season.
The biggest thing is that they have their offensive and defensive coordinators done. They decided to bring back Patrick Graham, who has held down a top-ten defense each of the last two years, and brought some of his staff back as well like Rob Leonard, the defensive line coach. On the offensive side, they basically cleaned house.
They brought on former Philadelphia Eagles head coach, former UCLA Bruins head coach, and former Ohio State offensive coordinator Brian Kelly as their offensive coordinator. Under him, they now have Greg Olson, the former Raiders OC, as the quarterback's coach.
So, the staff is almost completely done. There are a few more smaller positions that need to be filled, though. On Tuesday, the Raiders filled one of those smaller positions, and, they gave it to a young, inexperienced coach that they hope to teach a lot of things, just as Pete Carroll said they would in his introductory press conference.
Raiders to hire OSU coach Sean Binckes
According to Matt Zenits of CBS Sports, the Raiders are hiring Sean Binckes.
Sean Binckes is an assistant coach for the Ohio State Buckeyes, helping as one of the tight ends coaches. Originally from Brooklyn, New York, he joined Ohio State in 2023 as a graduate assistant on offense before being promoted to his current role.
Before Ohio State, Binckes coached at Nassau Community College in various roles, including offensive coordinator and strength and conditioning coach. He also worked as a running backs coach at Florida International University (FIU) in 2021 and as a graduate assistant at Temple University in 2022, focusing on wide receivers.
At Ohio State, Binckes contributed to the team's 2025 College Football Playoff National Championship win, playing a key role in the Buckeyes' offensive strategy under head coach Ryan Day. Kelly obviously saw something special in him, and that's good enough to be on the staff.
