The Las Vegas Raiders have certainly had their fair share of draft whiffs over the years, and a handful of those have come in the first round, and even the second and third rounds, too. Of course, we don't have to mention the biggest draft bust of all time, but there are others that have happened pretty recently.

Alex Leatherwood, the tackle from Alabama, who I'm almost certain is not on an active roster at the moment after being cut by the Los Angeles Chargers, was a pretty bad one in terms of him just not being a very good football player.

And then there are the Damon Arnette's of the world, who had the talent but could not stay out of trouble.

Arnette was selected by the Las Vegas Raiders in the first round, 19th overall, in the 2020 NFL Draft. During his time at Ohio State, he showcased significant defensive skills, amassing notable tackles, interceptions, and passes defended. His tenure with the Raiders was plagued by numerous off-field problems. From the outset, Arnette was embroiled in controversies involving reckless driving and legal entanglements.

The most significant incident occurred in November 2021, when a video emerged of him brandishing guns and issuing threats, prompting his release from the team. This incident was part of a pattern of behavior that included allegations of causing injury in a 2020 car accident and ensuing legal confrontations. Throughout his two seasons, he only managed to play in 13 games, never fully realizing his potential while with the Raiders. Post-release, his troubles persisted with further arrests related to drugs and firearms.

But, it appears that Arnette may have started to get things on track, at least we hope so.

According to James Larsen of PFN, Arnette has signed with the XFL Houston Roughnecks. This will be a great way to show what he still has if he can stay out of trouble.

As for the Raiders, they are on a two-game win streak against the Jacksonville Jaguars and New Orleans Saints and will look to beat the Los Angeles Chargers in the last game of the year.
