On Tuesday, the Las Vegas Raiders made a trade that may be the first of a few. They dealt DL Johnathan Hankins and a 2024 7th-round pick to the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for a 2023 6th-round pick.

That leaves a hole that must be filled on the inside of the Raiders' defensive line.

They may believe that they already have his replacement ton the roster, though. Young defensive lineman Clelin Ferrell has seen more snaps in recent weeks.

In particular, Ferrell has played more inside, and he has played well.

He's a former first-round pick, so there's no doubting his physical ability. Over the past couple of seasons, the Raiders have had difficulty finding the best role for him.

In that time, he has also improved as well. Now, Ferrell may have the biggest role of his career as a starter on the inside of the Raiders' defensive line.

They'd be smart to give him increased playing time there.

The Raiders must see what they have in Ferrell, especially if they are not going to trade him.

If it doesn't work out, then they will know after this season concludes. After the trade, keep an eye on the former first-round pick's impact on the Raiders' defense going forward.
