The Las Vegas Raiders have a great rookie class that is catching some eyes in OTAs.

The Raiders had 12 picks in the 2023 NFL Draft and they used just about all of them wisely. Sure there are things they could have done better but for the most part, I feel like they did well.

One of the more surprising picks we saw from the Raiders was drafting Cincinnati wide receiver Tre Tucker at No. 100 overall. Wide receiver was nowhere near the top of the list of needs in fact it was at the bottom. However, they saw something they liked in Tucker, and what some are saying reached on him.

So far the Raiders, and most every team, have completed rookie minicamps and have started OTAs. So, Josh McDaniels has gotten to see some of Tucker, and he is already excited about the possibilities at hand

"Well, when we evaluated Tre [Tucker] coming out, first of all, Tre's a captain," McDaniels told the media on Thursday. "He's an extremely bright guy, a hard worker, impacted them in the kicking game and offensively. And again, is a guy that can run, really run. And so, you take a guy like that and there's a number of ways that he could factor.

"Played on the coverage teams at Cincinnati and there are a lot of things that he did that maybe didn't show up in the stat sheets. But productive on offense, productive in the return game, productive in the coverage units, adds an element of speed and toughness. Again, this is his third day out here in OTAs, s, still learning a lot like all the rookies are, but excited about what Tre can do."

Tucker is smaller, but he is fast, very fast. The Raiders have a very deep receiver room. But, at the same time, none of those guys have game-changing speed. That is the element that Tucker possibly brings.

He can play the slot when needed, and he is a guy that would probably be great in the return game on both kicks and punts. The Raiders will find ways to use him the best they can and I think during OTAs and even camp coming up, we will see even more, just how much they like him.
