The Las Vegas Raiders had such big expectations coming into the 2022 season, as they should have. They made the playoffs before with a worse roster and an interim head coach.
Then they added the best receiver in football in Davante Adams along with Chandler Jones, and a new head coach that had shown a ton of promise as an offensive coordinator in a dynasty with New England.
The fans and media had every right to think that was a team that could not only make the playoffs but goes past round one. Yet, they ended up only winning six games. That led to the franchise and the new regime basically blowing everything up.
Now, they are projected to not make the playoffs again. This is a team that has made a ton of moves in the offseason, and even that hasn't impressed the oddsmakers.
BetOnline.Ag has the Las Vegas Raiders with +350 to make the playoffs, giving them an 83.3% chance of not making the playoffs. That would make sense to considering the Raiders have the fourth hardest strength of schedule too, according to Sam Hoppen on Twitter, who did a deep dive based on every team's projected win totals.
The Raiders an make the playoffs. Don't get me wrong. They added guys that have talent, and know how to play in this offensive system like Jimmy Garoppolo at quarterback and Jakobi Meyers at receiver.
I think this team will be better for sure – maybe win eight games. But I still think they won't make the playoffs. However, I also think those odds are a little steep. I guess we will just have to wait and see.
