Raiders: Hunter Renfrow has earned respect, he's like a 'puzzle,' says Ike Brown

Hunter Renfrow, the slot receiver turned trade chip for the Las Vegas Raiders, still has one advocate in his corner.
Raiders cornerback Ike Brown back in April went on the UCE Nation Podcast and compared Renfrow to a puzzle that is a little too difficult to solve.
"No disrespect, but I would rather guard Tae [Adams] than Hunter," Brown said in April. "He's like a puzzle, man. And it's like a puzzle you can't figure out. So he's very smart, man. And it's just like, he's very quiet and humble."
Renfrow has been the topic of trade discussions ahead of the 2023 season.
He hasn't enlisted any official offers, but reports indicate that the Raiders haven't necessarily blocked callers imploring about his availability.
Part of the Raiders' willingness to move on from Renfrow is tied to his disappointing 2022 season. He played in just 10 games and finished with 36 receptions for 330 yards and two touchdowns, all career-low marks. What didn't help last season was that he suffered a concussion and oblique injuries that forced him to miss seven games but has fully recovered, per The Athletic.
Prior to last season's pedestrian output, Renfrow was considered one of the most reliable receivers in the NFL. In 2021, Renfrow led the team with 1,038 receiving yards on 103 receptions, a mark that sits as the third most in franchise history.
If the Raiders elect to keep Renfrow, they are hoping that — with a new quarterback — he can regain that effervescent 2021 form.
Much of that is still to be decided. However, as it stands, Renfrow at least has one person in his corner and that may be all he needs.
