The bye week is finally here, and if there is any team that needs it, the Las Vegas Raiders would be near the top of that list. They have been through a ton of things this season, from coaching changes, several players cutting and letting go, and just losing bad games that have been more than winnable, like, being up 14-0 on the Kansas City Chiefs.

This rest week is much needed, especially if this team still wants to make that push for the playoffs. Yeah, you read that right. Do I think they should? No. I think they should just be ready to not necessarily give up on the season but start thinking about the draft.

The players think differently.

"We are what, 5-7? 5-7, there's nothing against us winning five in a row and sneaking into the playoffs," Hunter Renfrow recently said in the locker room. "That's kind of the goal. I'm hoping, and I think everyone in this locker room kind of has that in the back of their minds this whole bye week."

Now, I get it – what's Renfrow supposed to say? That he is ready for the season to be over so he can see where they fall in the draft order? No. He is supposed to say he believes they can still make the playoffs, even if it isn't realistic. If he didn't say that, it would be a big deal.

However, I think the playoffs are pretty much out of the picture. And, let's say they aren't, okay, do we really think this team can win a playoff game? Then you are almost doing all that for no reason, just to pick later in the draft.
