The Las Vegas Raiders have encountered another quarterback problem as, if it couldn't get bad enough. The Raiders lost to the Denver Broncos on Sunday, but they also lost their starting quarterback.
You can say whatever you want about Gardner Minshew, but no one wishes he would get hurt. On Sunday he did. Late in the fourth quarter, he was sacked by two players, thrown into the ground and he broke his collar bone.
It didn't look good, at all, and it looked so bad that it looked like Minshew was holding back tears. So, the Raiders turned to Desmond Ridder, and he did okay, for the hand he was dealt anyway.
After the game, the news was released that Minshew would be out for the rest of the season. This immediately led to the thought of the Raiders adding another quarterback, because they have to have three. But, then more news was released that could mean that the team won't end up looking outside of the building.
According to Vic Tafur of The Athletic, he expects Aidan O'Connell to be back on Friday for the Raiders against the Kansas City Chiefs. O'Connell beat the Chiefs last year on Christmas Day but didn't complete a pass after the first quarter.
He has been out for a while now, as he suffered a broken thumb a while back after the Raiders benched Minshew. If he's available, he would be the guy to start on Friday. The Raiders will play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Atlanta Falcons next, two more good teams that can easily beat the Raiders.
Las Vegas Raiders will now be looking for a quarterback again during 2024 season after recent news
It just can’t get worse.
