The Las Vegas Raiders just hired their offensive coordinator in Kliff Kingsbury, the former head coach of Patrick Mahomes of the Texas Tech Raiders and the former head coach of the Arizona Cardinals.
It took a while longer than most of the leagues with vacancies did theirs. However, that's because they wanted to get it right. In their eyes, they did just that. But they did have to interview quite a few coaches to come to the conclusion that Kingsbury was the guy.
Now, after the news has dropped, more news has dropped that the Raiders interviewed two other coaches with a ton of experience.
According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, the Las Vegas Raiders interviewed the former Cleveland Browns head coach and former Raiders coach Hue Jackson for an offensive staff position. Jackson and Marvin Lewis have a history together.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network mentioned that the Raiders actually interviewed former NFL head coach Chip Kelly twice for the offensive coordinator position, and the job ultimately came down to him or Kingsbury.
Now, the Raiders have to fill out some of the rest of their staff.
