The Las Vegas Raiders got outplayed badly on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills. There really is nothing else to it. The Bills came into the game after being embarrassed by the New York Jets last week.
The Raiders came in and looked as if they thought they could coast to a win. They may not believe that, but no one looked to have any sort of fire or anything. Josh McDaniels certainly did not like it.
The offense made countless mistakes, like throwing their best player into an injury, and the other three turnovers the team had as well.
The defense certainly didn't help. In fact, they were much worse than the offense; even if we expected that with them, they were still playing at a level on Sunday that is just unacceptable, no matter how good we know the Bills are.
One of the Raiders rookies explained what exactly it was that made the defense play so bad.
"They are a good team, you know. But, we are just kind of beating ourselves," cornerback Jakorian Bennett said. "We weren't on the same page. We have to stay the same age, stay together, and get rolling."
I wouldn't say penalties killed them, as they only had a few on the day. When Bennett says beating themselves, I think he is referring to their ability vs. what they are doing.
Sometimes, they would just make bonehead mistakes in coverage; things like that. The Raiders defense is a problem. They would allow catches that just shouldn't be made; they allowed busted coverages and no pressure by the defensive line; overall, it was just really bad.
Bennett is saying that they did all of that to themselves because he knows they can be better. We aren't so sure they can, as we have seen this for several years now – a defense that is just atrocious. They will need to bring it next week.

Nothing crazy to add.
