The Las Vegas Raiders have several rookies on the squad this year, so we will likely see what the future of the silver and black could be. The Raiders new regime focused on both sides of the ball in the draft, even though the offense didn't need anywhere near as much help as the defense.
Many fans were upset with one of their picks on the offensive side of the ball when it happened. But now, it's starting to make sense.
The Raiders drafted wide receiver Tre Tucker from Cincinnati, and it's starting to look like an absolute steal based on everything we are seeing and hearing.
Raiders Tre Tucker is a problem
Tucker was taken with pick 100, the pick the Raiders got from the New York Giants, originally from the Kansas City Chiefs. He is already turning heads.
"He's explosive. He's strong. I saw in the game last week that he's got that dog in him," Jimmy Garoppolo said of Tucker. "He's willing to fight for that ball. For a rookie to come in and have that, that's pretty rare.
"But he's nowhere near perfect; he's got room to grow," added Garoppolo. "When you're a rookie, you've got to just keep going, man. You can't ever think that you have it figured out at any point in your career, especially as a rookie. You can't relax; you've just got to keep going. It's a long year, but he's built the right way, and mentally, I think he's ready for it.
He's got that dawg in him, which is something fans are going to love to hear. The Raiders used to be a team when everyone on the team had some dawg in them. They used to be a team people feared, on offense and defense.
Tucker was drafted for his crazy speed because, yes, while this receiver room is crazy deep, they don't really have a speed factor as they do in Tucker. He will be able to provide a deep threat while also working in the middle of the field.
It would appear the Raiders have a dawg.
