The Las Vegas Raiders are still recovering from one of the more embarrassing losses in franchise history against the Bears. Maxx Crosby agrees.

The Bears were one of the worst teams in football, if not the worst, and they were without several starts, including their starting quarterback. Instead, McDaniels was out-coached by Matt Eberflus, and Brian Hoyer was out-played by an undrafted rookie Division Two quarterback.

They had to play with 15-year backup Brian Hoyer, and that was a mistake. It's not like Jimmy Garoppolo would have won the game, but he likely would have done better. However, he was on the sideline dealing with a back injury.

On Monday, McDaniels was asked about the status of his starter.

"That's a medical thing," McDaniels said to reporters. "Honestly, I wouldn't be able to put a percentage on that. I know he's doing well, but that's something that they'll let us know exactly when we're able to turn the corner. I'm hoping for this week, but I don't have clarification on that yet."

That's not really an update, but at the same time, it is. The Raiders need Garoppolo back if they want any shot at running their offense the way McDaniels said it can be run. However, we don't know when that will be.

If he isn't ready in Week 8 against the Detroit Lions, I'm willing to bet that Aidan O'Connell starts.
