The Las Vegas Raiders, after starting the season in the worst way possible, are now 6-8, and technically still have a shot at the playoffs.

The road to get to where this team is at right now is truly insane, and every win had to happen or they would have already been eliminated. I mean, yeah, the Raiders are 6-8 and likely won't do any damage in the postseason but they can still get there.

It could definitely be worse. You could be the Broncos.

But, the fact that there is basically still a chance may make this team play even harder on Saturday against the Pittsburgh Steelers. "So, you are saying there's a chance?"

“I mean, the reality is, is until they tell us there's not, there is," McDaniels told the media on Monday.

"Again, in order for us to maintain that positioning and that mindset, we have to do what we need to do ourselves this week to prepare and try to go to Pittsburgh and play a really good team on the road, and I'm sure in a great environment and try to win one game. So, we're going to continue to try to do that one week at a time.”

I don't know exactly what needs to happen for the Raiders to get in because there are so many different scenarios, as there was last year with this team as well. However, I do know that if they win out it only makes it easier to get in than if they lose a game.

If they win they let destiny control itself and let the cards play out. If they win out, there isn't much else they can control.

But, McDaniels is right and is telling it exactly how it is. Until they are told they can't make it, they will play every game as they can, as they should.

This team can still make it. I don't think they will, but I'm sure every guy in that locker room would love to make it and prove people like me wrong. And, I'd love to be wrong.
